Other guitars feel...weird. Les Pauls and I don't get along. Strats I have a love hate relationship with. But Teles... man. I have a Fender Telecaster that I've been playing for almost 15 years and I have yet to find another guitar that plays as well as that. But then I got the Hum bug and started looking at tele's with humbuckers.Fender guitars look like, well Fender guitars. I wanted something different. Something unique. Something that screams I'm hear to rock, but in a more mature 30 something way. Then, I found it. Pretty much by accident. The Dean Nash Vegas. Wait, Dean? Dean guitars? You mean the same company that made Dimebag's and Michael Angelo Batio's shred machines? Yep... the very same.When you place this guitar in your hands, it feels just like a tele. Except the neck is slightly longer because now you have that elusive 22nd fret. The neck feels firm and has a slick feeling sating finish. The bolt on plate is slimmer than a Fender which makes for face melting shredding up the neck a breeze. The body is contoured and feels very comfortable whether your playing it standing up or sitting down. For me, bridge position on a tele is key. When I hybrid pick I tend to rest my rest on the bridge. On the Nash Vegas, it's perfect. And then finish on the guitar. Man o Man... it is gorgeous in person.The only thing....the only thing wrong with the guitar were the pickups. But a quick call to Rio Grande Pickups...."straight out Texas" fixed that. Both volume and tone are push pull pots. The tone splits the bridge and the volume splits the neck. With the new pickups, this guitar flat out screams and is very versatile. It is darker than my tele, but it just adds another dimension to my sound. It's a great playing and sounding guitar and it's so unique nobody's ever seen one before. I highly recommend purchasing it, to release your inner shredder. If you order it, it will come... and tear your face off with rock.
