Within the first few measures you get the following chord fingering: X6874X. If you know what that means, you can see that this book is for serious guitar players only. But fear not! There are alternate chord voicings available at the end of each chart. That's good. The alternate voicing/fingering is not a whole lot easier. That's bad.The songs are painstakingly researched, and as true to many of Monk's recorded solo performances as you can get on the guitar.Master these, and you will have conquered new territory in your guitar playing.
