I’ve been playing guitar 22 years and before I found these I was using coated DR strings because I have guitars with Floyd Roses and it’s a pain to restring. These strings sound better and last longer than the DR or other strings I’ve tried. I recommend them. They’re fantastic for bends and wammy bar dives or just Randy Rhoads or Eddie Van Halen type stuff. These strings are amazing. The power is limitless. Dirty it up all you want. Strings typically last me about 3 weeks, these are on 2 and still can’t get over the playability. They are expensive but worth it.Good bargain and same as you get at music store only less expensive!I'm new to playing guitar and I love how awesome these stings sound. These Strings have given me motivation to practice more just love the crisp bright sound along with these Strings being super slinky nice and thin which makes them easy to playI broke the low E and A putting the set on (I'm an idiot that isn't the product being bad). But I paired the cobalts with the skinny top fat bottom strings . They are a match made in heaven, i'm just sad that I can't buy a set like. (and yes I've now learned how to properly string a guitar.). Bends are super easy but they aren't too thin like 8's. I have nerve damage in one finger and I can play these no problemo (I stabbed myself with a kitchen knife (i told you i am an idiot)) . Spend the extra couple bucks, you wont regret it....that's what this strings remind me of. Sounds like walking through crunchy snow especially the E and A strings. Wonderful bite, amazing tone, absolutely love these strings. Nothing else will ever go on my guitarsReceived a set with a kinked up b string that makes it unplayableI really can’t quite hear or feel any difference yet. Just that great new string brightness as usual. A string up four guitars, trying out different Ernie ball strings on a few of my newer ones. Trying to remember which guitar I put these cobalts on. I think my Jackson, and it is sounding great as always. I’ve been using Ernie ball since I started playing back in 1984–thanks to Eddie Van Halen. You can’t go wrong with any Ernie ball’s, go for it!!! ?????I play a lot and have done for a long time (33 years). My style is a little like Hendrix with big overdrive getting into Satriani and then dialling back down to a little Robben Ford (though wish I was as good as any of them). I use strats and a Les Paul and have used a variety of strings - mostly EB for years. For my strats I have used bullets and D'addario and have strayed into gold plate strings for my les paul (which were great, shortl lasting and very expensive).I came back to EB recently - trying these as I wanted to see of they felt more slinky under the touch. ANd they do. The playability of the guitar is improved slightly and the responsiveness also slightly better. There is a need to adjust your tone controls slightly as the strings do take out a little midrange and treble, but once you have this done, you have a long last ing string that has a great feel. I will be buying these againI have always used one of the Ernie Ball range of guitar strings , Having read up on the cobalt ones I thought I would give them a try, When fitting the G string it would not thread through the hole on the Rear bridge due to a very poorly wound string, (see pics) I had to squeeze it with a pair of pliers to get it through, once all strung up the other strings sound really nice, but the G string is very dead sounding. I tried to complain through Amazon but the only field available was a return, I cannot return them without cutting them off my guitar and then of course I would have no strings at all.All I wanted was a replacement G string, but clearly that won't happen, Perhaps this is a one off or perhaps they are not genuine or their product control is not as good anymore. My first attempt at upgrading from regular Ernie balls upwards feels like a sideways step! Firstly they have only been on for 5 days. So u known how long they will last ( though the top E Snapped immediately ) BUT the wound strings, due to the cobalt winding, makes the strings rougher when sliding/moving about. So! I can’t help but be disappointed. Yes they are very bright and full volume, but harder to play. An odd feeling as I like the sound but moving about is harder. So no I won’t be buying again sadly. I’d rather change strings more often and have the slinky soft feel.I bought a set of 9's as most reviews of ppl tuning up reported 10s snapping 1st E or 3rf G string, so I had no problem with snapped strings, fresh set sound great with adjustment to whatever pickups you have, comes down to preference I found a good balance, only con was ghe lifespan I got three weeks of every 3 days on average of play/practice time a week around 2hrs per day, didnt keep in a case so they may last longer that way, didn't use any string cleaning products and same with normal slinkys but same amount of usage the slinkys last longer, but for those first three weeks especially fresh on wow! They do tend to be a weird feeling on the fingers and not as smooth to touch as saythe paradigms especially elixirs, tone- scooped mids bright highs crisp lows- recommend use for live gigging fresh set every gig.. helps get that extra loudness and clarity punch through.
