Great value for the price. Guitar is well put together, though you might consider getting the nut replaced with something better than the plastic it comes with (such as ivory or bone). The bridge it came with is not the one pictured, instead it came with a string-through bridge. Thus the guitar actually has holes in the back which the strings go through, that come out of the front. personally, I prefer this style so that is a pleasant surprise. Neck shape is comfortable, and the finish is nice. Frets felt comfortable as well, no painful edges on the unit I received. I may update this review later on after more playing, in order to assess the tuners but for now they seem decent enough. The amp it came with was also an upgrade on the amp pictured. It is pictured with a "Rise" 5 watt portable amp (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JBLWBZU?th=1) but came with a Sawtooth brand 10 Watt amp (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FBRUSAE). This was a very pleasant surprise as it comes with a standard 3 prong plug while the "Rise" portable runs off of 9v, and does not usually come with an adapter. The Sawtooth amp also has gain, bass, mid and treble control whereas the portable rise only has volume & tone. While there are better practice amps out there compared to the 10W Sawtooth, it's still a big upgrade over the 5W Rise portable pictured. The strap it came with is generic, but good enough to do the job for a beginner. As you continue playing with it (or if you are a veteran) you'll most likely want to upgrade it. It did come with a string, which is nice if you want to use it on acoustic guitar. The tuner does what it's supposed to do, and that's good enough for someone just starting out or as a travel tuner you won't be upset if it gets misplaced. Experienced players may prefer their own pedal or rack tuners but keep this as a backup/impromptu jam session piece. The cable is cheap quality, plastic coating. Though usable I would highly recommend upgrading this ASAP if you decide to stick with playing. There are a number of good options on Amazon for around $20-30.The picks are a nice little variety selection, good for helping you find the thickness and material that works best for you.The stand is basic, and does the job. It also comes with a nice little grommet to strap across the top fork fo the stand, so just in case you lightly bump it the guitar won't slip out and slam on the floor. Build quality comparable to other stands I've used int he $15-25 range.I'm giving this 4 stars because it is a good deal overall. I suppose the entire kit should be reviewed separately. The guitar. It is a decent instrument, and yes, it looks good. So good, in fact, that people have asked me if it was an expensive instrument. The sound quality is decent, but it will take a bit of work to get it sounding correctly. I never knew how to do a setup on a guitar (and in fact, this is my first ever electric), and I learned on this one. The company is kind enough to supply the correct allen wrenches, but you'll have to supply your own screwdriver. This does mean that the guitar will have to be reset after each restring, so buy strings that will last a while. The guitar comes with a 3-way switch. The neck and body pickups sound fine for what they are. In fact, if I have to compare it to my $850 acoustic, it sounds pretty close, and in some ways, sounds better. Overall, a decent guitar for the price. The amp.As pointed out above, I've never had an electric guitar. I'm not sure if this is a good amp or not, but makes noise and does its purpose.Everything else.I've seen bags that cost $50 that aren't any better than the bag. I'll definitely keep this one around. The strap is perfectly usable, though a bit uncomfortable. I'll probably replace it.The stand is a stand. What more can be said? The guitar never tipped on it.You will also get cords, picks, and a tuner. They all work just fine. The strings are exactly what you'd expect: replace them right away. So, for the price, balanced against the sheer quantity of what you get, which is literally everything you need, short a phillips screwdriver, this is a great deal. I'm not sure how much I would suggest this to a beginner, as getting it to sound like a normal guitar takes some effort. If you aren't mechanically inclined or aren't at all interested in learning to do a setup, then this isn't for you (don't pay $80 to have a pro set up a $130 guitar for you). If you are a beginner and don't mind making some adjustments, then by all means, get the kit. If nothing else, you'll get everything else. I've seen far worse for amp / bag / cords / etc for more money at guitar shops.A good kit if you are a beginner. The guitar came with a misaligned neck but I was able to correct the problem. Obviously a full tune-up was required afterward.Amazing quality for the price. Excellent neck accurate fretting. The amp is good tooWould recommend because of the priceI am enjoying this guitar a whole lot. it does exactly what I was hoping for it to. a great beginner kit, easy to play with and fun to jump into.Seems to be a perfect beginners instrument
