I was really pleased with "The Guitarist's Bookshelf" and decided to try one of Peter Pickow's fake books. SLAM! DUNK! This book has one of the best selections of songs that I have ever seen in a fake book. I think the theme is "Americana ala Garrison Keillor's sing-alongs," but the book also includes songs like "My Buddy" -- a great WWI song about soldiers overseas -- I have not heard or seen in print since before my Grandmother passed in 1972! What I am trying to say is, "THESE ARE REALLY GOOD SONGS." Not only do I like the song selections, but this book has EXCELLENT GRAPHICS of the guitar chords and a brief intro on tuning and tablature that is truly very good. This will also be an excellent book for my guitar students.
