My ear has always gravitated and tuned into the euphonious and precise renditions of classical pieces mastered by Julian Bream. Perhaps I heard his classical guitar playing in a bookstore, library or somewhere in time, wherever the time and place, my ear turned to Julian Bream's soothing sounds and the production of the recordings. The sound production, studio and engineer used reverb, as opposed to many of the old Segovia sounds that were recorded dry. Bream played with such exuberance and expression in his phrasing that he matters more to me than Segovia and always my reference point when both playing and listening to classical guitar.His playing lives on (1933-2020).
